Graduation and 1K Race

Today was Easton's Pre- School graduation. Surprisingly, I held up really well. The tears did not come until I went to hug Easton's teacher. She was awesome! This is a picture of Easton getting his diploma from his teacher, Ms. Mandy.

Below are pictures of Troy and Easton in the Run For the Children race this weekend. Troy ran the 10K, Easton ran the 1K, and I ran the half marathon. ha ha ha! Okay, so Lexi and I actually just did a really good job cheering them on from the sideline.

My Dad: By Easton

Since I posted the information that Easton said about me, I have to post the story that he wrote at school. They had a Dad's night that was very special. This is the story that was posted in the hallway at Easton's school:
My Dad
Me and my dad like to play hockey and sometimes I win and sometimes my dad wins. My mom doesn't play hockey because she is in the bath or on the computer. Me and my dad like to go to BodyWorks and I carry a five pound weight. My mom took a picture of some dumb bells, they are the same as weights. My dad is our coach for t-ball. One guy on our team said his dad was not very nice, but my dad is nice. He is a a good coach and so is his friend Sanders. We have some good guys on our team. Every girl and guy are good except the guy that wasn't very nice. His name is *****( I better not put this on the blog). He has a lot of sliver teeth.

Mother's Day and Sea World

Easton and Lexi had some great Mother's Day gifts for me that they made at their schools. Those hand made gifts seem to be the most special. I have to post the questionaire that Easton filled out about me. For some reason I could not post the scanned version so I will just type it:
How tall is Mom? 55 inches
How old is Mom? 30
How much does Mom weigh? 20 lbs ( Oh I love this child)
What color is Mom's hair? blonde
What color are Mom's eyes? blue
What is Mom's favorite color? I think blue or red
What is Mom's job? She helps people get new houses and she works for Weatherbee Real Estate
Where does Mom take you for fun? To the carnival
What message do you want to send Mom on Mother's Day? I love her very much and she lets me play my X-Box.

We had a great time in San Antonio with Troy's sister and her family. We went to Sea World, the Alamo, and we stayed on the River Walk. My kids are still talking about the trip.

Easton and Lexi with their cousins: Cooper, Avery, and Parker at the Alamo. (Parker wasn't too excited about getting her picture taken.)

Troy and his sister, Casey. There is a funny story behind this picture. These two had their picture taken in this exact same spot when they were little and they were trying to re create the same pose. I need to get the other one so I can put them side by side.

Ten Things Tuesday May 6th

Okay, I have to admit that I am a little frazzled today. Old people are on my bad list today. It started off when we went to get Easton's shots today. He had to get 4 shots and I was just ready to get on with it since I had already broken the news to him. Well, when we got to the immunization clinic, we were about 10 minutes early and there were already lots of old people there about to beat the door down. Evidently they ran out of the shingles immunization last week and they all did not get to get the shots, so this week they were beating down the door to be first. I keep thinking, "surely they will let us go in front. I have a child here that is not trying to cut or steal a shingles shot." Well, I could go on and on. There is much more to the story, but the main point is that I had to wait over an hour with a 5 year old who knows is about to get 4 shots. Have you ever tried that? uggh! Easton ended up doing really well and we headed to Wal Mart to get him toy. Every old person that was not getting a shot was at Wal- Mart in the scooters right in the middle of the isle or standing in front of me in line with 100 things and I had about 2 things. Uggh! Now that I vented I am ready to be thankful....soooo...here I go.... Okay- I had a photo to go along with all of these and now they are gone. ARGGH! The devil is getting me today. Alright

1. I am thankful for Ten Things Tuesday because it makes me sit back and think about what all I am thankful for. Thank you Mrs. Brownstone for getting this going!

2. I am thankful for our children's ministry committee and for the children's minister. I do not know who he or she is yet, but I am already praying. I know this will be a great thing!

3. I am thankful that we get to go to Sea World this week with Troy's sister and her family. It will be lots of fun and is a much needed vacation.

4. I am thankful that my mom got to celebrate her 29th birthday last week. (Wow- it is wierd that I am older than my mom. ha) I had a photo here of my Mom but of course now it is gone.

5.I am thankful for the Southside women's retreat that I got to attend this weekend. My friend Jamie talked and did an outstanding job! She talked about JOY and I was filled with joy after listening to her speak. I also got to see Leslie! Yeah! It was so fun catching up with you Leslie. You are just as beautiful and sweet as always.

6. I am thankful that I registered Easton for Kindergarten yesterday. It is so hard to believe! We will be taking the "backpack" picture in August and he will be entering the big K!
7. I am thankful that God has taught me patience. With Easton- this makeup experience would have sent me over the edge. With Lexi- I just laughed and had to take a picture. [Photo]
8. I am thankful for prayer. I am thankful for my kids who understand the importance of praying. This is a picture of my kids praying for Jerrye Milam- a wonderful lady in our church who is having a difficult time getting well due to a severe stroke.
9. I am thankful for the health of my family. I know that I say this every week, but it really hit home last night when Troy told me that he was going to visit a friend today out of town. This good friend is one of the football officials that Troy officiates with. His name is Keith and Keith's wife is in the hospital not doing very well as she is battling cancer. Please keep Keith and Dorthy in your prayers. I said a very thankful prayer to God last night thanking him for the good health of my kids, my husband, my parents, in laws, and on and on.[Photo]
10. I am not upset at ALL old people. My grandparents do not count. ha. Gran and Poppie celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary last week. Isn't that amazing?! I pray that Troy and I get to celebrate at least 63 years together and I pray that I am doing as well as they are at 81 and 84 years old![Photo]
