Election Day- Perspective from a 6 year old

I guess Easton is really into this election more than I thought. I had no idea how much he was paying attention to the things that people say, the media, etc. Today Easton's class "voted" in their classrooms. Evidently they voted on chocolate milk, strawberry milk, or plain milk and they talked about the real presidential candidates. Easton informed me that John McCain likes to hike and his favorite book is King Author. He also informed me that Obama likes to play basketball. He was a little concerned b/c he kind of liked Obama since he liked to play basketball, but he really liked McCain b/c he liked to hike. He informed me that he can't wait to see Obama because he is going to tell him that God loves him and that it is okay to say the pledge of allegience and touch the Bible. Wow! He also told me that he told a girl in his class that he could not believe that her mother voted for Obama! yikes! We had a little talk about how we don't discuss that type of thing with others. I had no idea that a 6 year old would be so interested. He also asked if he could stay up late to see the election results. I am not sure if it was b/c he really is interested or b/c he just wants to stay up late. Oh well...praying for this election!

Wow you might have a future politician on your hands. What awesome insight he had in telling Obama what he thinks. So glad you wrote this down!

I know, Hayley was REALLY into the election this year. She told someone that Obama was going to take her Mommy and Daddy's money! Love the story!
